Xerox Phaser 8560MFP/N is a printer that inherits Xerox solid ink technology, inherited from the purchase of Tektronics a few years ago, has not been killed for its own colour laser expertise, but runs parallel, within the range of its Phaser printers. Xerox Phaser 8560MFP/N is not one of your smooth and sleek office printers, but it has some bits that stand out in most directions. The flatbed scanner above is much larger than you think, especially since it can take a paper to US legal size, 60mm is better than A4. The overhang output tray on the front also, with a steaming smoke plastic stops the paper flying to the floor. There's a big, complicated-looking control panel on the front, but once you see the options, they're pretty clear. Things like choosing colour or black-and-white printing modes, document type, output quality and various ways of working with single- and double-sided documents, although this Phaser 8560MFP version does not have a duplexer. All this is to the left of the control panel. On the right is a dial pad to dial numbers and fax buttons to start and stop copy jobs. In the centre, there are five mode buttons and a six-row and backlit LCD display for status and menu selection.

Physically, the printer is very easy to set up. Lift the scanner and lift the ink loader. It's a four-column tray with a hole on the higher end, like a baby toy where you - the baby - matches the different shaped blocks through the appropriate holes. Solid ink is really dense and printed so that just the right colour stick (more cuboid blocks, really) passes through every hole. It takes minimal packaging also environmentally friendly.
