Xerox WorkCentre M20i is a reliable printer for printing, scanning, faxing, copying, and allowing you to send e-mail, but it is not an all-in-one. Better understood as a standalone fax machine, copier, and e-mail sender, with a network connector that enables it to function as a network printer. And even though the USB connector allows scanning and printing of a directly-attached computer, you can not send a fax from a computer or scan over the network. Even so, M20i can be useful for those who want a standalone function and network printer.

This unit measures 19.2 by 21.3 x 17.4 inches (HWD), this printer has a fairly large size so you have to prepare a special place for the M20i, to move it maybe you need the help of a friend because of the hefty weight. The manual network installation process surprised us because Xerox was the first to offer fully automated installation. This is not to say installation is difficult, it's just that we expect it to be automatic. Performance M20i can print up to 22 pages per minute (ppm). It slows down for photos, prints a 2-page Microsoft Word text file in 15 seconds, but takes 32 seconds for files similar to text and photos. Total time for our suite of business applications is 12:25.

The quality of the results is very important to us. We print text quality very well, with over half of the fonts we test easily read on 4 points. The graph falls between good and very good, and the photo level is somewhat better than fair. The uninspired M20i speed, output quality, price, and features make it difficult to be recommended as an AIO.
